POLK COUNTY, Iowa - The West Des Moines man sentenced to 30 years in prison for the death of one adopted daughter and the abuse of two other children is planning to appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court.

Joseph Finn was originally charged with endangerment resulting in death, kidnapping, neglect of a dependent person, and child endangerment-serious injury after 16-year-old Natalie Finn was found starved to death in her bedroom.

Joseph Finn took a plea deal in the case but WHO TV Channel 13 reports Finn has now filed notice of intent to appeal.

Finn’s ex-wife, Nicole, is serving a life sentence.
