Iowa car dealer to lose license, accused of swindling customers

DENISON, Iowa  --  A car dealer faces felony charges and is losing his vehicle dealer's license accused of fraudulent practices by the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Robert Adams is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and more than 10 counts of theft.

WHO TV Channel 13 reports the investigation of Adams Motor Company in Denison, in Western Iowa found customers were paying for title transfers, warranty contracts, and protection plans, but didn't get what they paid for.  

The  Iowa DOT says the dealership also sold cars with outstanding loans but failed to pay off the loans.

Adams' preliminary hearing is set for June 5th.
