Between tree limb cleanup and clearing debris from yards, Des Moines homeowners-especially on the city's south side, have a lot of debris they need disposed in the aftermath of the storms Tuesday.
The City of Des Moines is encouraging residents to drop it off at the Metro Solid Waste Site Saturday between 7am and 2pm. Residents of Des Moines will be able to dispose of yard debris free of charge during those hours only. The city says proof of residency in Des Moines will be required.
