Iowan man leads deputies on 100 mph chase in Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Iowa-  Police say a Madison County man led them on a chase early this (Wednesday) morning, that topped 100-miles per hour in Polk County.

Forty-six-year-old Steven Schoessler of Bevington is facing multiple charges.     The chance started when a deputy tried to pull over Schoessler's pick-up on East Broadway in Delaware Township.   He continued on Highway 65, and exited at Vandalia.

He eventually crashed  in the 43-hundred block of East Granger Avenue, and tried to run, but a police dog tracked him down.

He was taken first to be checked out at the hospital, then to the  Polk County Jail.  He's facing multiple charges, including eluding, interference with official acts, driving with a valid license, and a host of traffic violations.  A female passenger in the pickup truck was not taken into custody.
