DES MOINES, Iowa - A six-year-old girl at the beach with her family drowned at Gray's Lake.
Fire and rescue officials were called to the beach area of the lake just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday on report of a missing child.
Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel searched the water, and at 7:50 p.m., the child was found and resuscitation efforts began immediately.
The girl was taken to Blank Children’s Hospital, where she later died.
