I was at a baseball game late last evening and I got a text from Courtney Crowder of the Des Moines Register telling me she was quite sick and she was agonizing even more that she wasn’t going to be able to come in this morning to be our designated Bonnie. So I told her just to take good care of herself and get lots of sleep (the opposite of getting up at 3 in the morning to do a radio program!) So I hope she gets to feeling better soon! We’ll have her back some other time. I want to hear all about her new role at the Register.
Meanwhile I got a call from the front desk yesterday that there was a delivery for me. I laughed when I saw it. It was one of those giant cardboard checks that the Lottery gives their winners. Terry Rich had sent it over since we had talked on the air about these big checks. It was made out to me in the amount of “Priceless” as the “WHO Radio Morning Dude.” It was so funny that it took me awhile to realize he had spelled “Harden” with an “i” instead of an “e”. That’s OK Terry. There’s a county here in Iowa that misspells it too!!! Thanks for the gift! It’s on my office wall!
