It's National Cheesecake Day and the most-searched type of cheesecake on Google proves that foodies are trying to have their cheesecake AND diet too!
The top search is for Keto cheesecake.
In case you are unfamiliar with the Keto diet, it is similar to the Atkins Diet - which was all the rage a little over a decade ago. I know, because I did the Atkins Diet successfully at the time (I know just eat moderately with daily walking and a HOST of fruits and vegetables).
Keto is a low-carb diet - carbs stimulate your body to produce glucose and insulin to burn as energy. If you lower the carbs, your body will burn fat for energy instead.
It makes sense that, on National Cheesecake Day, Keto dieters are craving a low-carb recipe!
For the more traditional eaters, those that search on Google are looking for recipes for:
2. Strawberry Cheesecake
3. Chocolate Cheesecake
4. Oreo Cheesecake
5. Blueberry Cheesecake.
Normally, I'd go for a chocolate dessert when indulging, but when it comes to cheesecake, I tend to like the flavor of strawberry, as well.
I understand if the Keto diet works for you that you'd look for a low-carb recipe - but I am more likely to order a salad for lunch anticipating a dinner and dessert combo.
