WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa- One man was killed, a second man injured in a pick-up versus semi crash in Wapello County.
The Iowa State Patrol says a pick-up, driven by 62-year-old Dennis Sandifer of Blakesburg collided head-on with a semi, shortly before 8 o'clock this (Thursday) morning, south of Blakesburg.
A passenger in the pick-up, 28-year-old Brandon Pruett of Blakesburg was killed. Sandifer was injured and was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
The driver of the semi, 30-year-old Jared Holmes, of Wellman, Iowa was not injured.
The State Patrol says the collision happened as the driver of the pickup attempted to pass in a no passing zone.
