Cohen Lawyer Backpedals On Trump-Russia Claims

I actually have no problem with partisan media.  It's a time-honored tradition in this country.  I only have a problem with DISHONEST media.  That includes media that pretends to be "fair" in its coverage while specifically serving a liberal audience.

I've taken to calling the liberal, coastal media "impeachment TV."  It's what the left wants and the liberal media are glad to feed their dreams of ending the Trump presidency prematurely.

The anti-Trump left is hungry for proof of Russia/Trump collusion during the previous campaign, which they hope will jump-start impeachment proceedings.  The problem:  the revelation of collusion is always JUST around the corner.

Witness this latest story:  Michael Cohen's lawyer, appearing on liberal television networks, was eager to give the audience what they wanted:  claims that Cohen had knowledge of President Trump's supposed awareness of Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Too eager, it seems.  According to Fox News:

Lanny Davis, a longtime Clinton confidant who now represents the ex-Trump attorney, had been a source for reports saying his client had information that the president knew in advance about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. and Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya. Davis also suggested that Cohen had “direct knowledge” of Russia hacking into emails of Democratic power players.

But now, Davis is walking back his statements, telling The Washington Post that he “should have been more clear” that he “could not independently confirm what happened.” He said in a separate statement Monday to Fox News: "I take the responsibility for not communicating more clearly my uncertainty. I regret the error."

Let ME be clear:  impeachment isn't going to happen and President Trump will stand for re-election in 2020.  And Democrats have yet to discover a candidate that inspires the kind of passion that Trump stirs in HIS supporters.
