Iowa records 32nd safe haven baby

The state has recorded the 32nd safe haven baby.      

The Iowa Department of Human Services says a boy, born August 19th, at an Iowa hospital has been released  to DHS custody.   

A court hearing to terminate parental rights will be held in a month.

Iowa's safe haven law, allows parents the option to safely hand over custody of a babies age 30-days or younger without fear of prosecution or abandonment.
