Iowa Man shot on opening day of squirrel hunting season

LEHIGH, Iowa- A Webster City man's recovering after being shot while squirrel hunting in north central Iowa this weekend.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 55-year old Sao Bunpan was shot in the upper body, by his brother, 50-year-old Khor Bunpan, also of Webster City.

The two had been squirrel hunting at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area Saturday,  when Bunpan was shot.

He was taken to a local hospital first, then transferred to a Des Moines hospital with non-life  threatening injuries.   Officers believe it was an accidental shooting, and no charges have been filed.
