DAVENPORT, Iowa - It turns out letters posted on doors and utility poles around a Davenport neighborhood threatening a blood bath for homeless people and drug addicts was a publicity stunt gone bad.
Davenport police say about 100 of the letters were distributed, and investigators say they tracked tracked the letter to Adam Mayber.
Police say he told them the letter is tied to the plot of his new book The Night Lion.
Police wrote Mayber a ticket for disorderly conduct.
