Iowa State's President Wintersteen formally installed

AMES, Iowa.   Iowa State University has formally installed its 16th president.  Wendy Wintersteen is ISU's first female president.  She is the former dean of ISU's College Agriculture and Life Sciences, and has had a 38-year career with Iowa State.   There installation ceremony was held today (Friday) at Stephens Auditorium.

President Wintersteen's reminisced, during her installation speech, about her application process:

"I introduced myself to the search committee, in my application letter by mentioning the University-wide campaign led by the ISU Foundation, "Forever True for Iowa State."   I wrote as dean, proud alumnus, and donor, the idea of forever true touches me  very deeply, since it clearly expresses my 38 year relationship with this university and underlies my reason for applying.  If  selected as president I wrote, the Cyclone faithful will immediately know, that this is someone who is not passing through, but is like them,  is forever true."
