An Ottumwa Middle School student is in custody after threatening another student with a gun over Snapchat.
Ottumwa Police say they were notified Monday night that during a Facetime session on Snapchat, the student brandished a gun, with the student threatening to shoot another middle school student.
Police say after determining the threat as credible, they went to the school Tuesday but the student who initiated the threat wasn't there. However, they were able to find and arrest the youth, who's charged with First Degree Harrassment.
The student was in a juvenile detention facility as of Monday evening.
