Western Iowa police dog finds 300 lbs of marijuana in RV

FREMONT COUNTY, Iowa- Deputies in western Iowa's Fremont County made a big drug bust early this (Friday) morning on Interstate 29.   

The Sheriff's Office says deputies stopped a 2017 Chevy Coachman RV near the 4-mile marker southbound for several moving violations.   A police dog detected 300 pounds of marijuana.

Deputies arrested 65-year-old Richard Jordan of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, 44-year-old Elwood Perry, Jr, of Chesapeake, Virginia, and 45-year-old Patrick Hawes,  of Norfolk, Virginia.

The three men are charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver more 100 Kilograms, a Class B Felony, and are being held in the Fremont County Jail without bond, pending an initial appearance with a Magistrate.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement.
