BEVINGTON, Iowa — Heavy snow in Southeastern Iowa caused poor road conditions and numerous crashes. 

 According to the Iowa State Patrol, portions of I-35 near Osceola were impassable after a semi – truck jack – knifed and a charter bus blocked the road. It caused a major traffic backup, but no injuries. 

On I-80 near Walcott, an Iowa State Patrol cruiser on the side of the road was hit and damaged.   They posted a photo of the patrol car (photo below) on the ISP Facebook asked drivers to slow down, put the phone down, and buckle up.  No one was seriously hurt. 

One driver crossing Iowa on the return Thanksgiving trip from Texas back to Minnesota tells WHO TV there were at least 100 cars in the ditch along the way.  The Iowa State Patrol reports 32 crashes in Iowa up to noon Sunday.
