Clive woman accused of sloshing gas, setting man on fire

CLIVE, Iowa - Police say a woman splashed gas on a man and set him on fire outside her home in Clive. 

24-year-old Kaydee Cuesta is also accused of trying to splash gas on a woman who police say tried to help the man by ripping off his burning clothing after he was set on fire.   

According to court documents obtained by WHO Radio News, the man was taken to the burn center at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. 

Police were called to the home in the 1500 block of West 78th Street in Clive just after 9:00 p.m. on Thursday October 18, 2018.

According to the Criminal Complaint, besides witness identification of Cuesta, police say they collected evidence, including the man's burned clothing. 

Cuesta has a hearing scheduled for December 6th.
