BOONE COUNTY, Iowa- An Ames man was killed in a two-vehicle crash southeast of Boone at 7:30 this (Tuesday) morning.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office says it appears one driver lost control in icy conditions on Highway 17, (1400 block of S Avenue) and crossed into the path of a oncoming vehicle.
The man killed was from West Ames. The female driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital.
The Sheriff's Office says names are expected to be released Wednesday.
