Animals taken from rural Albia, Iowa property

DES MOINES, Iowa-  Several animals have been taken from a property near Albia, in rural Monroe County. The Animal Rescue League says three horses, a burro, steer, and two dogs were outside in the cold without food, water, or shelter.  One dead steer was found on the property.

The ARL says two of the horses are underweight, and the burro's halter had been on for so long, it rubbed the hair away, and was so rusted it had to be cut off.   The ARL says the steer had hooves that needed considerable treatment.

Charges are pending.
