JOHNSTON, Iowa - A Johnston couple now faces charges as police say they stole $160-thousand dollars from a dependent parent.
Investigators say Michael and Trina Mazza wrote unauthorized checks totaling at least $18-thousand dollars to area retailers between August and November of last year.
The victim's bank reported the suspicious spending.
WHO Channel 13 reports both suspects were arrested on Tuesday.
The pair has bonded out of jail and preliminary hearings in their case are scheduled for March 8th.
