DES MOINES, Iowa - A 17 year old is dead, shot Sunday night in Des Moines. Police say they believe he was targeted.
Several witnesses called 911, one man telling police dispatch that he saw a man get out of one car with a gun, and shoot several times into another car, that sped away.
Des Moines police confirm that car took the victim to Mercy Hospital, where he died. The car was still in the Mercy parking lot when police got there.
Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses, but have not released whether they have identified a suspect in the shooting. The name of the victim is withheld pending notification of family.
It's the City's 3rd Homicide of the year.
