The moment the Mississippi River flood barrier fails VIDEO

DAVENPORT, Iowa - People are seen running as flood water rises in part of downtown Davenport last week after a flood barrier gives way to the Mississippi River.

Record flooding has put additional pressure of the HESCO walls in downtown Davenport. HESCO barriers are made of a collapsible wire mesh container and heavy duty fabric liner, and used as a temporary to semi-permanent levee.

Surveillance video from the Roam Restaurant and Bar in downtown Davenport records the moment one of the HESCO barriers failed sending floodwaters from the Mississippi River in downtown Davenport Tuesday.
