UPDATE Heavy rain bullseye moves, still coming IOWA RAIN MAP

National Weather Service - Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa - Prolonged moderate to locally heavy rain is likely late tonight through Wednesday evening in much of Iowa.

The National Weather Service says additional minor river flooding is anticipated by Thursday or Friday, especially along the West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville and Humboldt, the Des Moines River at SE 6th, the North Raccoon River at Perry, and the Raccoon River at Fleur in Des Moines.

There is some flash flooding potential, but prolonged moderate rains more than short lived intense rains should limit the threat.

Iowa has a marginal risk of severe weather on Wednesday afternoon and evening, especially in the Southeast corner of the state.
