Reynolds Signs Campus Stun Gun Law

DES MOINES, Iowa-- It will be legal for students and staff to carry stun guns on Iowa Regents University and community college campuses. Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill Thursday that allows the stun guns at Iowa, Iowa State and Northern Iowa and the state's community colleges. The law bans the weapons at football stadiums and on hospital and clinic grounds. Backers of the bill say the stun guns are an added measure of safety, while opponents are concerned the weapons will be used by an attacker against those who carry them.
