Iowa Hemp Production is Legal

DES MOINES, Iowa-- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill Monday that allows farms to grow industrial hemp. Under the new law licensed growers can cultivate the crop on up to 40 acres. The Iowa Department of Agriculture must develop a plan for hemp production which must then be approved by the US Department of Agriculture. Reynolds issued a statement saying Iowans should know the law doesn't legalize the sale or manufacturing of all hemp-derived products, specifically those that contain CBD.
