RED OAK, Iowa - A father in Red Oak, in southwestern Iowa, is arrested after a small child and a baby are found in a hot car.
Police say they were called to a Dollar General Store location on report of two small children inside a car with only one window open.
Officers arrested 36-year-old Joseph Nelson while his kids were cooling down in an ambulance.
The children were 5 years old and five months old.
Witnesses said the kids had been in the car for 10 to 15 minutes.
WHO Channel 13 reports the temperature outside was 90 degrees at the time.
