Two people rescued after raft accident in Des Moines River

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Two people are safe after their raft capsized on the Des Moines River Monday night.

Des Moines police took the call around 9:30 p.m. on two people trapped under a raft near the Scott Street Dam. They were pulled over the dam by the current of the river.

The people were given medical treatment after being rescued from the churning water.

One official tells WHO-TV 13 the people were on a small, inflatable raft in a dangerous part of the river.
