IOWA CITY, Iowa - Parents tell Iowa City sports radio station AM 800 KXIC that Hawkeye band members were groped and punched during the Iowa State - Iowa game Saturday. Other reports say the marching band was booed and beer was thrown on band members. Fans say bad behavior by both sides at the annual match-ups goes back many years.

On Monday, University of Iowa athletic director Gary Barta issued a statement saying marching band members were subjected to inappropriate actions, but he isn't elaborating on exactly what happened.

Now, Iowa State University Athletic Director Jaime Pollard says they're concerned.

"Cyclone fans are far better than that." Pollard says."If we had a few Cyclone fans that acted inappropriately and damaged that... that's a shame." He says.

Pollard says ISU is concerned, and will launch an investigation if they can get more information from the University of Iowa on what happened.
