9 Year-Old boy takes a wrong turn during 5K & wins the 10K!

Nine year-old Kade Lovell entered the 5K run of the St. Francis Franny Flyer, but he missed his turn and ended up running the 10K run! Once he figured out he was on the wrong route, he said it was too late to turn back. He just knew his mom was going to yell at him. His mother was waiting at the finish line of the 5K and he never came. So she got in her car and started looking for him. She received a text from a friend at the 10K finish line that told her some young boy had just won the 10K. It was Kade! He finished the race a whole minute ahead of the second place finisher...a 40 year-old! Kade's time was just over 48 minutes for the 10K....amazing! I guess knowing your mother is going to yell at you is a lot of incentive to get it done fast!

Lovell said he trains three times a week and wants to compete in the Junior Olympics in the winter.
