Wisconsin Woman Sentenced For Sex Trafficking Minor In Iowa and Nebraska

OMAHA, Nebraska - A 37 year old Wisconsin woman is sentenced in federal court to 10 years in prison for sex trafficking a minor.Brooklyn Pohl will then spend five years on supervised release after she completes here prison sentence.There is no parole in the federal System.

On November 22, 2016, law enforcement made contact with a 16 year old at a truck stop in Gretna, Nebraska.Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol determined that between November 18th and November 22nd, Pohl and the minor female had traveled from Illinois to Iowa and Nebraska.Pohl transported and advertised the girl for the purpose of engaging in prostitution in Nebraska and Iowa.

Authorities say that Pohl and the girl stayed together at various motels in both states and posted online advertisements offering sex acts for money.Pohl used her cell phone and that of the girls to advertise the girl's picture on Backpage.com to solicit commercial sex.This apparently happened a number of times in both states.Authorities say that Pohl used some of the money from the girl's sex acts to buy a vehicle in Iowa and used it to transport her and the girl to Nebraska where they continued to advertise and engage in sex acts.

This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Nebraska Attorney General's Office and the Sheboygan Police Department in Wisconsin.
