Southwest Iowa Planning Council Vehicle Collides With Cement Truck

POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, Iowa - The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that sent 7 people to a hospital Wednesday morning.

Around 7:30, deputies arrived at Highway 6 and Sunnydale Road for a three vehicle crash. Deputies determined that a Southwest Iowa Planning Council transport vehicle out of Atlantic, Iowa had eight passengers was westbound on Highway 6.

The preliminary investigation shows that the driver, 66 year old Bernard Morrison crossed the center line and struck a cement truck driven by 40 year old Luke Andrle of Omaha. Morrison's vehicle then struck a Ford Fusion driven by 58 year old Scott Peterson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Six passengers in the Southwest Iowa Transport vehicle were taken to area hospitals. Andrle was taken to a hospital. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
