HARRISON COUNTY, Iowa - The body of a Nebraska kayaker and hunter was found in a western Iowa state park lake about 30 miles north of Omaha.

33-year-old Cody Bengford of Bellevue, Nebraska was found Saturday by Iowa Department of Natural Resources divers in Nobles Lake Wildlife Management Area.

After he was reported missing Friday, two DNR officers found Bengford's kayak overturned a short time later.

The search was called off late that night, but divers resumed their search Saturday and found Bengford's body shortly after 9 a.m.

DNR Conservation Officers were assisted by seven other agencies in the search for Bengford. They include the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Council Bluffs Fire Department, Harrison and Shelby County sheriff’s offices, Harrison and Shelby County Emergency Management, Missouri Valley Fire and Rescue, Modale Fire Department, Midwest Regional Dive Team, and the Iowa State Patrol.
