According to data from CandyStore.com, based on 12 years of sales, Skittles is the best-selling candy in the U.S. But that’s not to be confused with the favorite candy in the country, that honor goes to another classic: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

These are America’s best-selling Halloween candies, according to CandyStore.com:

  1. Skittles
  2. Reese’s Cups
  3. M&M’s
  4. Snickers
  5. Starburst
  6. Candy Corn
  7. Hot Tamales
  8. Tootsie Pops
  9. Sour Patch Kids
  10. Hershey’s

I have a story about ONE person's love of Skittles. As you may know, my mom was born in Germany, and we frequently visit family there. For many years, Skittles were not available there. I have a young cousin who had, at one time, visited us in America and fell in LOVE with Skittles. So when WE went to Germany, we would pack our suitcases with Skittles for her!!!!

Germany now HAS Skittles and my cousin is very happy. Which is why I think the availability of candy MAY be the way to achieve world peace.

By the way, the most popular candy in Iowa is Twix.
