Iowa Hawkeyes back in Top 20 after win over Minnesota

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa Hawkeyes moved back into the Top 20 in two college football polls after an impressive win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who came into Saturday's game ranked No. 7.

The Haweyes moves from No. 23 to No. 19 in the latest Associated Press poll after their 23-19 victory. In the USA Today Amway Coaches' Poll, the team jump just two spots from No. 22 to No. 20.

Iowa is now 7-3 on the season (4-3 in the Big 10) while Minnesota drops to 9-1 on the season (6-1 in the Big 10).

With their loss to the Hawkeyes in Iowa City, the Golden Gophers saw their ranking in both polls drop out of the top 10 to No. 11.

Meanwhile, Iowa State is getting votes toward the Top 25 after its win over previously ranked Texas on Saturday. The Cyclones are the second team outside the AP Top 25, having received 31 votes this week.

Iowa State beat Texas in the final seconds of the game at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames 23-21.
