"Emergency Repairs" will close 380 in eastern Iowa Tuesday night

IOWA CITY, Iowa - With the lack of snow on the ground, the Iowa DOT is pushing ahead with construction this week which means a few closures for a major eastern Iowa roadway.

Starting Tuesday night and again Wednesday night at 7pm, I-380 north will be closed from the I-80 interchange to the Forever Green Road exit near North Liberty.

Additionally the ramps from I-80 both East and West to 380 will be closed.

The roadway will reopen Wednesday and Thursday morning at 6am after what the DOT calls "emergency repairs" on pot holes.

The interchange is already being re-worked as part of a multi-million dollar project that will change the clover-leaf interchange between 380 and 80 to a drive-over which the DOT says will be much safer.

The DOT expects the entire project to be done by 2023.
