$4.5 Million In Pot Was Found During Council Bluffs Traffic Stop

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - A 35 year old man is sitting in the Pottawattamie County Jail after a huge drug bust on New Year's Day.

At 1:05 p.m., Council Bluffs police stopped a Penske box truck for speeding on eastbound I-80. An officer issued the driver a ticket and a Council Bluffs Police Service Dog was requested to check out the contents of the vehicle. The dog detected drugs.

Inside, officers found 61 cardboard boxes containing about 1,500 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $4.5 million.

The driver, Dmitry Borisov of Los Angeles was booked on a number of drug charges.
