Iowa Man Sentenced In Nebraska On Drug Charges

OMAHA, Nebraska - A Cedar Rapids, Iowa man will spend 15 months in federal prison after being sentenced in Nebraska.

On July 18, 2018, Omaha Police saw 23 year old Matthew Podgorski driving eastbound on I-80 going 60 mph in a 50 mph construction zone. During a traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted and they found marijuana and two kilograms of cocaine.

Podgorski was found guilty for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana.

Podgorski will have to serve all 15 months as there is no parole in the federal system. Following his prison term, Podgorski will serve four years of supervised release.
