AMES, Iowa -- The Iowa Department of Transportation's opening a new drivers license center in Wakuee on Tuesday.
"There was actually a big growth in Dallas County, as well as the metro Des Moines western suburbs. That's really pushed our demand beyond those that are typically provided by a county treasurer office" says Iowa DOT spokesperson Andrea Henry.
She says the new Waukee office will offer a wide range of services.
"People can go in and get brand new drivers licenses, or IDs for the very first time--or get their renewals. They can also take the knowledge or written test for CDLs" she says.
Henry says the Waukee office replaces the drivers license center in the Dallas County Treasurer's Office in Adel.
The new Wakuee office is in Kettlestone Plaza at 1156 SE Ashworth Road, at the intersection of Ashworth Road and Grand Prairie Parkway.
