DES MOINES, Iowa - A new survey ahead of the Iowa caucuses addresses the question "How Closely Does Iowa Resemble the U.S.?"

The Wallet Hub survey compares Iowa’s demographic characteristics and public opinions against the rest of the country.

It scored Iowa's "Overall Resemblance" Index at 89.

Iowa most resembles the U.S. in terms of hours spent at work. The survey say it least resembles the reast of the country in terms of race

Some Democrats are asking the party to move the state's caucuses to later in the primary season, claiming Iowa 91 percent white population doesn't represent the country's diversity.

But a major finding in the Wallet Hub survey found the Iowa caucuses to be a much better predictor of advancement for Democrats than for Republicans.

Seventy percent of Iowa-caucus winners have won the Democratic party nomination while only 38 percent the Republican party nomination.
