Iowa Democratic Party's chairman resigns

Technical Difficulties Continue To Delay Iowa Caucus Results

DES MOINES, Iowa-- The Chairman of Iowa's Democratic Party is stepping down.

In a letter to the party's central committee, IDP Chairman Troy Price says he's resigning, and takes responsibility for the errors that caused a three-day long delay in reporting results of the 2020 Democratic Presidential Caucuses.

He says he's proud of the work the party's staff and volunteers have done to finalize the caucus results despite what he says has been anger directed at them and threats to their personal safety.

Price says he wants the party's central committee to appoint an interim chair during a meeting on Saturday who will work through a limited re-canvass and recount of Caucus results. He says he'll formally step down when his replacement is elected.
