AMES, Iowa - A 21-year-old man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle in Ames Wednesday.
The Iowa State Patrol says 21-year-old Johnathan Pickhinke of Nemaha was traveling north in the 2800 block of North Dakota Avenue when he lost control at a curve in the road.
The motorcycle crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle.
Troopers did not say whether 49-year-old Darren Moon of Ames, who was driving the other vehicle, was injured.
The crash, which occurred just after 3:30 pm Wednesday, is still under investigation.
