Positive coronavirus cases in Iowa rise to eight

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The number of positive coronavirus cases in Iowa is more than doubling in less than 24 hours.

The Iowa Department of Public Health now says eight people in Iowa have tested positive for the virus, with 11 tests pending.

It was just Sunday that that the state confirmed three positive cases--all in Johnson County.

Pottawattamie County health officials confirmed a case there Monday afternoon.

The Iowa Department of Public Health says 51 people in Iowa have now been tested for coronavirus, with 32 coming back negative.

IDPH also says 67 people being monitored for the virus haven't shown symptoms.
