President Trump Addresses Nation From White House On Coronavirus

DES MOINES, Iowa - President Donald Trump's approval rating is at its highest ever in Iowa.

The latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll says 50 percent of Iowans polled approve of Trump's job as president, up four percent from February of 2019.

This is the first time Trump's approval rating has hit 50 percent in an Iowa Poll.

The poll also has Trump beating Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders in a hypothetical election if it were held today. It show Trump beating Biden by a 51%-41% margin , and Sanders by a 53%-41% margin.

Trump's approval rating in the poll is propelled by Republicans (94% approval), men (60%), evangelicals (63%), rural Iowans (68%) and those making $100,000 a year or more (57%).

The Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll is based on a sample of 667 likely voters in the 2020 general election, and has a margin of error of 3.5 percent.
