West Des Moines distiller plans to make free hand sanitzer

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa- A West Des Moines company plans to produce hand sanitizer, available to the community at no cost, starting today, (Friday) March 21st. Foundry Distilling at 111 S. 11th Street in Valley Junction, says people can bring their own container, up to 12-ounce in size, and staff will refill it, limit one refill per customer per day.

Company officials say the hand sanitizer is 60% ABV or 120 proof and will be produced daily at their facility in West Des Moines.

“We are Des Moines’ distillery and distill spirits every day right here in Valley Junction. This is one way we can help out our friends, neighbors and customers during these difficult times.” said Scott Bush, Foundry Distilling Company's founder. “We are happy to shoulder this expense associated with doing our part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We look forward to a time when we can all gather together again safely and celebrate our blessings with a toast of some Foundry Spirits.” he added.

The product is expected to be available on the following dates and times:

Friday March 20th and Saturday March 21st 12-6 p.m.

Thursday March 26th - Saturday March 28th 12-6 p.m.
