Marshalltown Police Identify Victims in Shooting That Left One Dead

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - Police have identified the victims in a shooting Wednesday night in Marshalltown that left one man dead and another injured.

Twenty-two year-old Johnqwez Lewis of Marshalltown died at the scene while 27-year-old Devonte Brooks of Marshalltown has been released from a hospital after being injured from gunshot wounds.

Marshalltown Police have not made any arrests related to the shooting, and are asking for public help in solving the crime. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Marshall County Attorney's Office are assisting with this investigation.

Marshalltown Police Chief Michael Tupper called the shooting a "cowardly act" and vowed to track down those responsible for the crime.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for any tip that results in an arrest. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Marshalltown Police at 641-754-5725.
