Iowa Man Gets Life In Prison For Beating Woman's Son To Death

The boyfriend of a Quad Cities woman is heading to prison for the rest of his life for beating her son to death.

A judge in Davenport on Wednesday sentenced Tre Henderson for the 2018 beating death of five-year-old Ja'Shawn Bussell.

The life sentence is mandatory for a murder charge. Ja'Shawn's mother, Jacqueline Rambert, was sentenced to 50-years in prison or not stopping the beating. She must serve at least 20 years before she is eligible for parole.

The boy died May 1, 2018 at University Hospitals in Iowa City from complications due to head injuries.
