Coronavirus kills seven more people in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The COVID-19 coronavirus has killed seven more people in Iowa.

The state Department of Public Health says the latest fatalities are two older and four elderly adults in Linn County, and an elderly adult in Washington county.  

There are now 41 coronavirus deaths in Iowa.

Public Health says there are also 77 new COVID-19 cases in the state, for a total of 1,587 people.

There are currently 129 people hospitalized with the virus, and 674 have recovered.

IDPH says there are now more than 200 cases each in Linn and Johnson counties.
