Calhoun County Sheriff Arrested on Domestic Abuse

Calhoun County Sheriff Scott Anderson was arrested and booked in the Webster County Jail Sunday morning on domestic abuse and "assault on persons in certain occupations." The Fort Dodge Messenger reports the charges are misdemeanors.

Fifty-one year-old Anderson has been sheriff in Calhoun County since 2017, when he was elected to the position. He was released on a $1,600 bond Sunday afternoon and has a preliminary hearing Monday.

Police have not released details of Anderson's arrest. His ex-wife filed domestic abuse charges against him in October of last year, but a judge dismissed the accusation.
