Des Moines man facing charges in connection with January fatal shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Des Moines man is facing charges in connection to a January shooting that killed two people and wounded two more.

Police say Alex James Arthur, 29, is charged Obstructing Prosecution--an aggravated misdemeanor.

Detectives identified Arthur as a person in control of the property at 2702 51st street where Damiko Carr, 28, and Karyree Henderson, 21, where shot to death on January 15th.

Police say detectives found that Arthur deliberately deleted portions of video surveillance footage that contained evidence relevant to the investigation.

Michael E. Blackwell, 31, and Alonzo L. Kearney, 26--both from Des Moines-- were wounded in the shooting.

There are no other arrests in the shooting.
