Wind Turbine Plant in Newton Has Two Cases of COVID-19

NEWTON, Iowa - A wind turbine plant in Newton says it's following CDC guidelines after two of its workers have tested positive for COVID-19/coronavirus.

The workers at TPI Composites have been in self quarantine since last week. The plant is the largest employer in Jasper County, with 1,050 workers.

The company says its been implementing CDC guidelines for the past month. All workers must have their temperatures taken when entering the building. Visitors are also screened when entering. TPI Composites says several dozen employees have been working from home since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
